Pink Roses in a Glass - Pink Saturday

My DH and I took off and went on a four day trip
together in north GA.  It was great!  We visited
mountain towns and just spent time together. At the
first stop we made in Martin, GA,  my DH got out
of his truck and picked these roses along the road
for me.  I thought it was so sweet that I carried them
with me everywhere we went.  They are such
elegant roses and can blanket a hillside quickly.

We carried them on the balcony at the vacation unit where we were
staying in Helen, GA

DH suddenly became very interested in rooting roses.  He researched
the internet about rooting roses in willow bark that has been boiled and
steeped like tea. Have any of you had luck rooting roses?  Here he is
examining roses to try to root.
Hope everyone is enjoying Pink Saturday today!  Back home in SC,
it is pouring down rain, but that's ok, because it's all good for the roses!

I didn't have time to visit other blogs this week after taking off, but I
plan to visit this Saturday. Do visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound
for more pinks on Pink Saturday!

Love,
Lottie          ~Don't forget to stop and smell the roses~

  1. What a wonderful trip you had and so nice of Hubby to do that.

We have been rained out for the last two weeks. My yard looks like a jungle because of it.

  3. Hi, Lottie!

Those are beautiful roses, and how nice that they would spread that way. Hope you get them rooted! My grandmother and mother had roses, but my thumb isn't as green. I have some small bushes of knockout roses, but they aren't nearly the beauties that climbing roses are. My grandmother had them climbing up a trellis, and I always loved them SO much.

    Happy Pink Saturday!

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  5. Your husband is charming, stopping and picking roses for you.
Never been to Helen Georgia, will have to check that out.
I rooted two tea roses I have now from 20 years ago. I just stuck the stem in root tone and in to dirt packed around the stem really well. My mom used to put the canes in the dirt while still attached to the rose and then cut it when it rooted.
Thank You for your visit to my blog and leaving a comment, I am glad you stopped by.
Been raining off and on here in Va. sun comes out to tease and then a dark cloud comes over and drops lots of rain. I love it.

  6. Hello, I just found you on another blog and stopped by to smell the roses and say hello. Love the northern Georgia area! We used to living in Charleston, S.C. but are now in the upper midwest. We are, however, enjoying roses--just a little later than down south.

    Best,
    Bonnie
