BACK YARD ICE

Just when I was getting used to winter an ice storm arrived and everything changed again! And the beauty of the outside was incredible all over again  Here are some pictures in my back yard!

This squirrel was enjoying a snack below the birdfeeder.  He seemed to be trying to get my attention!  When I looked up at the birdfeeder above him, I saw the strangest looking bird! Ha!

Thank you for visiting me today!  DH is in and out.  The cold doesn't seem to bother him.  He just wraps up and drinks more hot coffee!  Hope you are warm and enjoying the world out your window!

Love,
Lottie

  1. Love your pictures. Your yard is beautiful. I feel sorry for the flowers though. The squirrels are always fun to watch.

  3. Oh my goodness you do have the icicles. We were having a mild winter until last week and it has hit us hard. Our temps have been in the single digits and so much snow. Today we are having rain and snow again and so much ice on the roads.

  5. Brrrr!

The Cardinals are so pretty. I wish we had more.

Our temp today was in the 40's BUT goes back in the
    freezer tomorrow.

    Stay warm.

  7. Your photos are really pretty, and so is ice. Even though I know it's not fun to be in as a human. Love the cardinal, they are my favorite bird. Our temps here in IL have been quite frigid....and no warm up in site.

  8. Whoa! I was just about to write here about how pretty the icicles are when I heard this loud noise overhead and the dogs started barking. I think a big sheet of ice and snow just slid off the roof overhead, scary. Almost like your post was accompanied by audio, Lottie!

    Darling squirrel!

  9. Hi Lottie! What beautiful snaps you got. Love all of the pretty icicles hanging down from your little bird houses and feeders. We're covered up in snow here and it's -7!
No icicles yet. Thanks for popping in to see me.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  14. The ice gave us Southerners quite a beating didn't it, but ooh, what a fabulous photo opportunity.
I love the bird feeder-chandeliers and sweet Cardinal and squirrel.
Let's hope it's all done and dusted for this year at least.

  15. Oh my goodness, I truly hope you are past all that cold and ice by now! I've already had to turn the air-conditioner on here in AZ.....believe me, I'm not bragging about that!

  16. Hello Lottie,
I am coming over from Dewena's blog. I saw your name, My Blue Cottage, and smiled, as I have always loved blue in the home. I wanted to comment on this post because these cardinals made my heart sing. I love the birds, and it is my dream to see the red cardinal one day. I don't see them around here. That squirrel picture is so cute too. What a lovely picture of your porch and the icicles falling down. Me and my daughters also have a blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would certainly come back and follow you as well.

It's nice to meet new friends, and you have such a lovely blog. I hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.
