Fall Decorations

Last year I donated almost all my fall decorations to the school library where I worked.  It was about thirty-five years worth of pumpkins, leaves, ghosts, etc.  I was happy to let them go since we don't have any grandchildren and everyone in our neighborhood is older than we are.  So, when I started to decorate our home this year I went to the closet under the stairs and said, "Opps!"  I had forgotten that I gave almost all of them away!  I did keep one box of my favorite scarecrow girls!
These are all store-bought! I don't remember where and I don't remember how much I paid for them, but I love them.  This scare crow girl sits in a wreath on our front door to welcome all!.
This scarecrow girl loves to hear the chimes.  You can tell by her wonderful smile.

This scarecrow girl swings on the door to the side porch to welcome all the side porch visitors!  She wears her smile, too!

And this is my side porch decorated like summer with no hint of fall or Halloween.  I went out this afternoon to sip some ice tea and feel the breeze.  I wonder if I can get away with not decorating this year?

No, I think not!  I noticed a big spider off the porch.  A Halloween spider?????
I think I will have to make a shopping trip soon.  I have enjoyed seeing everyone's fall doors, and porches and mantles in bloggy land.  Maybe when the leaves turn I will make that shopping trip.  Maybe I'll just enjoy all of your decorations!  (No, I need to make that shopping trip tonight!)  Thank you for visiting.

Love,
Lottie

  2. Lottie I did the same thing last year. I got rid of alot of holiday decorations. My Kids are grown and the Grandkids are growing up so fast. We just do not see them as much during the holidays, so I decided to downsize my holiday decorating. Not as much as before, but just alittle.

  4. I can't bring myself to part with my holiday decorations! I don;t decorate as much as I used to-especially since my Mom passed away, but I can't get rid of them.

    Your girls are cute!
