An Hour Unplanned

Yesterday I came home an hour early and realized I had not planned
what to do with my time.  Isn't it funny how we spend so much of
our time working and achieving goals that we never just relax and be?

So I relaxed for a few minutes on the deck enjoying the sunshine
and the wind blowing.  I started thinking about the garden DH had
planted and wondered if I could fix a big healthy salad for dinner.
DH wouldn't be home for dinner so it would just be me.

So I started gathering cucumbers for the salad.

Wow! I see where they get the word "bountiful".

I visited DH's garden across the yard.  Just found a sunflower!

So I went inside and made a salad from yesterdays tomatoes
and the last of the lettuce from the garden.

Then I heard the most beautiful sound!  It was raining!

I took my salad out on the side porch and ate it while I watched
the rain.  And it was the best salad because it came out of our
garden.....and I was eating it alone....and I had come home an hour
early......and.... it was an hour unplanned.  It was WONDERFUL!

And then at almost one hour exactly the rain stopped.

Back to work!

I hope you take unplanned time to just be.  Sometimes we as
women feel like we have to be working ALL the time.  It wears
us out.

Hope you are having a good day!

Lottie

Speck of Happiness

I know there are terrible things going on in the world and people are
facing horrible obstacles,  but sometimes we all need to reach out
for a speck of happiness.  It could be anything! Anything to warm
our heart or make that smile appear!  Here is a picture of a speck of
happiness I let come in.  It is a "plastic" acid green alligator purse I
bought at Kmart for 40% off for $11.80.  AND I LOVE IT! :-)
What are some of your specks of happiness?  I don't have any
grandchildren...that is why a green purse means so much to me!
Have a great day!

Love,
Lottie

Wonderful Getaway to the Mountains

There is a great getaway to the mountains in Dillard, GA.  Here at the
end of school, we took some time off for some much needed rest
and relaxation.  Come spend some time with us!
This is the old rock house that is part of the original bed and breakfast
in Dillard. It is just beautiful!  The grounds make for a wonderful walk!

We only stayed here once because it was authentic.  Then we
discovered the cool retro rooms behind the rock house and
we always stay here now!
There is also lots to see and do in Dillard.  Right around the block are
the horses!
And there are lots of beautiful views of the mountains!
It was a getaway! It's amazing but since we arrived home, I have
finished so many things. It seems when we take time away from
routine and mundane, we are happier! Now to make getaways a
habit!  Thanks for coming along with us!
Love,
Lottie
