January Walks

 I miss my January walks.
I miss the clouds and the rain and the cold wind as it grabs my face.
I miss the sound of my own footsteps.

I miss the towering trees, my friends the trees.
I miss the road before me, ever welcoming my journey.
And the mist, precursor to beloved rain...

When my body is racked with pain, dear husband holds my hand as we walk as one.
I miss our walks in January.
I miss our walks in January.

Winter owns January!
When the temperature drops,
we can no longer walk!

Thank you for coming along with me on my pretend walk.
When it is 17 degrees outside, all I can do is pretend and
 miss my January walk.

Love,
Lottie

A Little Christmas Laughter

Christmas is such an emotional time.  It can be overwhelming!  You know what I mean.

Well, the Sunday before Christmas, Denver Downs Farm sponsors a two lap Christmas parade.  People who want to be in the parade line up at the railroad tracks at the crossroads at Denver, SC, at 2 pm and the parade starts at 3 pm.  It is all just plain silly and so much fun!  Come along and share a little Christmas laughter.

"There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious
 as laughter and good humor."
                                                                                                     - Charles Dickens

"We're all here for a spell; get all the good laughs you can."
                                                                                                                      - Will Rogers

"Always laugh when you can, it is cheap medicine."
                                                                                             - George Gordon Byron

"If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane."
                                                                                                      - Robert Frost

" A day without laughter is a day wasted."
                                                                                            - Charlie Chaplin

"Laughter is the closest distance between two people."
                                                                                                       - Victor Borge

"Find 100 reasons to laugh.  You are bound to feel better, you will cope with problems more effectively and people will enjoy being around you.  Besides unhappiness, what do you have to lose?"
                                       - Steve Goodier

"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells."
                                                                                                    - Dr. Seuss

"A child's giggle is worth one hundred pounds of gold."
                                                                                                       - Amy Leigh Mercree
"Laugh and make the best of every situation.
Understand that life is not perfect."

Goodness, Christmas lasts a long time.  My son is driving in today (Dec 27) and we start Christmas all over again!  There will be much laughter!

I hope you have a great year ahead in 2015.  Let me share one more thought with you, my dear bloggy friends!

"The more you expect from life, the more your expectations will be fulfilled.  By laughing, you do not use up your laughter, but increase your store of it.  The more you love, the more you will be loved.  The more you give, the more you will receive.  Life proves that truth every hour, every day.  And life continues to surprise."
                                                                                                           - Dean Koontz
Happy New Year!
